We Are Getting Married!
Hi! We are Danika Law and Garrett Petersen and we will be getting married on August 13th, 2016 at 2632 Cavendish Avenue in scenic Oak Bay.
We've come a long way since we met in the stir-fry restaurant on the UVic campus five years ago. From student life, to a year of long-distance during Garrett's Master's degree, to a year of living together on Yates Street, to another year of long-distance while Danika was working at Statistics Canada, it's been a journey. Come celebrate our journey with us at our wedding!
How long until the ceremony? This countdown will tell you, down to the second:
Dress Code
We're going for a dressy-casual summer wedding. The festivities will be outdoors in the August sun, so don't wear something that'll make you sweat. However, you might want to bring a light jacket or sweater so you can layer up when the sun goes down.
- Wear a nice dress shirt or polo and slacks
- Wear a light summer dress
- Ties and bow ties are optional, but cool
- Jackets and vests are optional (but nice to have when it gets cool in the evening)
- Don't wear shorts
- Don't wear a t-shirt
- Don't wear pointy heels (they might get stuck in the lawn!)
- Don't wear something from the closet of Marie Antoinette
- Don't wear He-Man cosplay

If you're coming from out of town to attend our wedding, there are a few hotels we'd recommend depending on your preferences and budget:

Close to downtown: Strathcona Hotel
Gifts
We know it's a tradition to bring gifts to a wedding, so we've set up a registry on Honeyfund. We are planning a honeymoon (we haven't decided exactly where yet!) and Honeyfund lets you contribute to that!

When to Arrive
The ceremony will start promptly at 5 pm and will immediately followed by a reception dinner. Please arrive by 4:45 pm at the latest.
If you're coming from out of town, you should catch the 1:00 pm ferry from Tsawwassen at the latest to ensure you arrive on time.
